Football Champ by Tim Green #5

Zurich, Switzerland|| As usual, books always close with a happy ending. Seth got the A-OK to play Sunday against the Seahawks, but not before he would help the Tigers on their championship run. Loyal to his threat, coach Renfro gave the Tigers´playbook to the opposing team, and that put them in a serious disadvantage.
In the end, things always work out like they´re supposed to. The Tigers won on a very cunning move, completely catching the Vipers off guard on a fake extra point attempt and winning. No sane person would ever think of risking as much on a championship game. This is exactly why this move was so brilliant on Troy and Seth´s behalf. Troy hit the spotlight from the moment the whole country knew of his football genius. Now, scouts were already watching him at age 12. This shows a terrific example of how brilliant you can be at what you like. All it takes is practice, motivation, and a little bit of knowledge.
Football history is defined by great players doing great plays. Football is Greatness. Not even books are the exception to these types of stories. From "The Catch" to "The Drive", nothing is ever as exciting as watching leyends be born on the grand stage called the NFL. Of course, this was just state league, but nonetheless daring plays distinguish the great players from the bunch. Tim Green portrays this aspect of the game in the most dramatic, self explanatory way. As a player himself, he must have experienced some wacky feelings when playing for greatness, as any football player strives to do so. This series put together by Green masters the art of literature and molds it into the feelings of passion for something. A job well done by a living leyend!

Zurich, Switzerland|| Roger Goodell came up with a great solution to figure out whether or not the Falcons were using Troy as a type of "Spy Gate". He invited Troy and the very own Falcons owner to watch the Giants vs. Cowboys game and have him predict the plays. Troy did a sensational job and got cleared to give the helping hand once again.
Seth had also been voted the Duluth Tigers head coach by the kids´parents. He won in a near landslide, and the grumpy coach along with his son bailed out of the school. They gave the Tigers an ultimatum, promising to give the team´s playbook to the opposing team during the championship game. They didn´t take their threat for granted, so the celebration continued.
Everything was returning to the way it was before Peele stepped in the spotlight. The only problem was Seth was still suspended from the NFL and his test results were not going to be ready until Monday. The only thing Troy could do was get Dr. Gumble into accepting that he collaborated with Peele to sabotage Seth. Of course, he wouldn´t do that publicly, so they would have to set up a trap.
The bond Seth and Troy have, in my mind, is unique in its own way. Very few boys accept other men in their mother´s lives quite like he has done. Common interests can really boost up a relationship, in which football is equally as important to one as it is to the other. I wish there were more kids like Troy who would do crazy things just to help their stepfather, or something along those lines. Being the son of a single mother, that really makes me happy to see because I hope if that happens one day, I can maintain a nice relationship like that.

Zurich, Switzerland|| As expected, the disgusting reporter twisted Troy´s story into making Seth and the Falcons seem like cheaters and simultaneously reporting Seth as a drug addict. Troy mentioned him that Seth took vitamin shots as a stimulus to his bones and muscles. Being a linebacker is probably one of the toughest positions to play, especially if you´re 38 years old. Damn, is he low or what? Now, the NFL commisioner Roger Goodell has opened an investigation on the Falcons and Seth has been suspended from the NFL for an undefined number of games. This couldn´t have come any worse time. Imagine getting suspended just by the time the playoffs are coming. It could not have been easy for Seth, let alone Troy.
Not only that, but Seth got kicked out from his coaching position at Troy´s middle school because of the substance abuse policy. He got replaced by the former coach who treated everyone badly, except his own son. All Seth could do was get an exam to prove himself innocent of substance use. Then ,the parents would hold a meeting and vote to decide who would stay the coach of the Duluth Tigers. Most kids prefer Seth, so it´s most porbable he wins on the elections.
Having two jobs is not an easy job for any person whatsoever. Not even a mastodon linebacker with all his might and energy can withstand it without suffering from fatigue and stress. Add a squeeky little weasel out to get him, and no person would ever imagine living such a stressing daily routine. Luckily, Seth didn´t lose his better job, playing for a professional football team. However, playoffs were nearby and if something wasn´t done at the nick of time, the Falcons would have to bow down to the demands of other NFL teams and playing without the only advantage they had over the other 31 teams. Only luck and some cunning daredevil move could return hope to everyone.

Zurich, Switzerland|| Both Troy and Seth have to bring out their A-game since they have two tasks to take on almost at the same time. Troy has to lead his team into the state championship and complete his duties as advisor with the Falcons. Seth has to double that by practicing with the Falcons and coaching Troy´s team. They are both so concerned that no one is paying any more attention to ol´ mischievous Peele than to their own activities. However, the team´s owner had something to say about it. Troy and his best friends Nathan and Tate were invited to watch the game from the owner´s box. However, this still meant Troy would have to coach the team up.
After the Falcons won the game, everyone was so excited that they forgot about Peele. And guess what, Troy got BUSTED! Despite what everyone had told him to not spill the beans with him, he believed in Peele´s good faith and said everything. Troy had no idea what he had just done, and boy was he going to get in trouble with the team, his mom, and Seth.
Damn, Peele knows everything now. Reporters and paparazzis are all the same. They get their hands on a story and twist it all around to make it sound a lot more interesting. I don´t believe in Peele´s good kindheartedness he showed Troy. He obviously tricked him into believing his good nature so he could finally destroy Seth. On the other hand, it would be so amazing to be able to watch a football game from a V.I.P lounge. The only time I ever went to see a football game was Thanksgiving day 2008, but it doesn´t compare to that. It´s such a shame that some bad guy had to ruin the otherwise pleasant experience of working on a comfortable environment. I´m anxious to know how Seth will suffer the consequences launched by Troy´s poor judgment of character.

Zurich, Switzerland|| This book talks about Troy, a 12-year old football fan who had a stunning ability to read offensive and defensive schemes. He is the starting quarterback for his school and his mother is the community relations manager for the Atlanta Falcons. Her boyfriend is the star linebacker for the same Falcons team, Seth Halloway, who also coaches Troy´s football team. Troy has been hired by the Falcons as their ballboy, but what the NFL doesn´t know is that Troy is also an advisor, which incredibly helps the Falcons defense rise up to expectations and win games.

Everything seems to be working out fine for everyone, but there is one problemto the story. Brent Peele is a reporter who is out to get revenge on Seth for an incident that ended Peele´s football career. The Falcons are doing all they can to hide Troy from the hands of this spineless, heartless reporter. One wrong conclusion could mislead to another which would get them in trouble with the NFL and jeopardizing their miraculous turnaround season.

This story is of great interest to me because it combines the elements of football with a well thoughout type of drama included. The inclusion of a bad guy, an antagonist, into an environment concerning the national football league is something no one would ever expect from the real NFL. It also blows my mind how a 12-year old could possibly have so much football knowledge to predict plays before they even happen. This is what every coach, every aristrocratic owner of each team wishes to have on his team. A mindreader, a way to look into the other team´s playbook and countering it with ease. This is something only the Falcons possess and hopefully isn´t stripped of it because of a cheeky reporter who looks to end the resurgence of his bitter nemesis.
